I'm just about old enough to remember the days before search engines when the easiest way to get around on the internet was by following links from one site to another. The tradition of having a Links page has largely died out, but I intend to keep it alive here by posting links to sites I find particularly interesting or useful. I don't claim affiliation with any of the sites on this list, if you would like your site removed please contact me.
- Ian and Sue Paxton's Web Site
- A website run by my aunt and uncle who live and work in Romania. If you like this 'site, you can also visit my uncle's blog
- J.A.R.S.
- The charity my aunt and uncle work for
- Lifehacker
- A regularly updated blog which features tips, tricks and downloads to improve productivity
- The Portable Freeware Collection
- Does what it says on the tin. They have a massive database of freeware that can be run without being installed, in just about any category you could imagine
- PortableApps.com
- Another good source for portable freeware. Whilst it isn't as comprehensive as the Portable Freeware Collection, their programs tend to be easier to configure
- Northumbria University
- This is where I studied for my degree in BSc Computer Science
- W3 Schools
- An invaluable collection of free tutorials covering several web building technologies, including XHTML, CSS and PHP
- 000webhost.com
- Provide a free hosting service with no adverts. I currently have two sites hosted with them, and so far they seem reliable and have good technical support.
